Actually, I've thought about modifying RC control planes and helicopters to survey sites (yeah I know I can use google-earth), but this option gives me a bit more detail and a more current look.  So even though this particular model wouldn't be adequate for my purposes this isn't too wild of a place to list it (after all, it makes a good practice model).

I have used a radio controlled glider and a film camera in the past. Now that digital cameras are getting cheap, I may try it again with a digital camera. If I need to, that is.

The cameras are nothing weight wise like they use to be.

Add a Electric Drive on the Glider and you have a cool Drone to scope out new areas.

Both of my gliders are electric and high start. If I have room, I prefer the high start followed by electric when airborne.

I tried my little Micro camera on a helicopter but it would not even get off the ground,,,, need a bigger model  Great I see you can now get helicopters with built in camera, looks worth trying....

Those all look interesting, Peter. And the price is hardly more than a good quality camera.

Hey Gold Digger.... Was over in S. Korea late 60s and built a powered glider with a timer and camera. It would fly for several minutes, run out of fuel, glide for a while and the timer would cant the tail and it would come down, all the while shooting a few 16mm pictures..... One day we launched it and the #$%@ wind grabbed it and last I saw it was heading due north!!! Either some N Korean kid has a cool plane or they shot it down!!!!!
