Here's a couple links of agates from Argentina. Very pricey but gorgeous.

They make a good living at finding these in one of the most remote areas of the world.

Nice agates, Steve. Thanks for sharing the sites. I like to imagine the oozy gooziness of all the layers before they solidify.  Smiley Sue

There's still a lot of mysteries yet to be solved regarding the formation of agates. Grin Grin Grin

Glad we found this forum !
Claudia , my Wife is an Oncologist , and I (Ricardo) am retired from lumber and other business.
We travel several times each year to the Patagonian Region and try to collect agates in new and old sources we personally found since year 2003.
Don?t know where our agate collecting hobby will fit in this Forum (any clue?) Huh?
We will be more than happy to share our "hunting" adventures and results(Cut and polished agates) Smiley

All our best from far away Argentina!

The link Steve posted should have made you feel quite welcome  Smiley Do you find the agate modules just lying around on the surface or does it require deep digging at your good sources to find the nice ones? Sue

Hi Sue!: Smiley
Sometimes we have to dig , others , we have to look for "signs" , like small agate pieces that let?s us know that there could be a chance to find nodules.
We don?t find the agates easily . There are spots where agates are found , but it?s easy to miss these spots if you are not paying attention .
Agates from Patagonia , are almost all broken or cracked. So it is not easy to find a good flawless nodule. Undecided.
Most of the times , we carry a LOT of useless and heavy load . But we concluded that ALL agates must be cut , because nodules don?t show what they have inside.
All the best!
