Just curious - how do you polish Amber?
I usually use progressively finer grades of abrasive paper.
Anything quicker?

Thanks! - give that a try.
Know what you mean about it melting, stupidly took a dremel to a bit before I knew what I was doing!

Paul A,

You may use a cotton buffing wheel with dental polishing compound (available from dental supply companies) for speedy polishing (after sanding to 1500 grit).
For even faster mirror-finish polishing, use a cd/dvd scratch-remover with the buffing wheel (after sanding to 800 grit). It can do approx 3 square inches of surface area in less than 6 seconds but a little more experience is needed to handle this stuff. Not all scratch removal liquids are the same; you may have to experiment with a few brands.

Thanks for the replys!
Did a little experimenting today and found that the "colour restore" cream that they do for car bodywork works a treat!... Super shiny!

I wish I had more amber near me to find, I just love the stuff! The closest to me are some small pieces found in coal about 15 hours away. DOH.
