Found this recently in a woodbine formation near my home while looking for artifacts and fossils.
No artifacts but his was sticking out edge first.

Name: Turritella
Gastropods (Snails)
~ 90 million years.
Dallas Co.

Jess B.

While in Turkey and Greece I would find live snails that look just like that.   Must had been a good design. Huh?

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

~85 million years give or take a million.
Woodbine formation,

Also there are three different gastropod species on this stone but the turritella are the most prominent.
Bits and pieces of "Oysteria" are on the stone as well but no teeth.

Thanks for the comments guys.
I rarely get out anymore but always manage to bring home something else to clutter up my home.
