Been trying my hand at some hard-rock prospecting. Apart from a few blisters, sore back and a great tan, I've come across some pretty interesting rocks. One batch of rock stands out; under the crust and gangue, it appears bluish-green. Please refer to photo titled Rock.jpg. Does it look like gold-bearing greenstone? Tested with a strong magnet, no reaction.

In some parts, a greenish precipitate oozed out from cracks and fissures, possibly oxidized copper which I've seen when stomping around old volcanos. Also one portion when hammered split to reveal some bone-like structure within...looks like some kind of vertebrae. I sanded a window to 800 grit, and there appear to be some minute crystals of brown/olive green. Further sanding revealed that the crystals were only a thin layer, and under them was just more grey/blue/green rock.
