I read an article by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources saying they had found small traces of indicator minerals for the possibility of diamonds being located in Minnesota. Since reading that article I've done a bit of snooping around the net. Turns out archean cratons along with their greenstone belts typicaly yield nice minerial and other precious metal deposits. This was true for southern Africa, Russia, and recently discovered 'goodies' in Canada. Learning how these and other hot locations have so much in common geologicaly makes me wonder why not Minnesota. The northeastern part of the state has the same geology as these other already promising areas. Anybody know anything that may spark or extinguish my intertest???

I did a search on G10 garnets which is an indicator of diamonds. The link below is just one of many.

jvsurma, I think if you focus your google search on "Canada + diamond indicators", you should find plenty of material to keep you busy for a while.

Thanks BA. I have done a little research on the Ontario Province. I'll keep hunting for the similarities. Appreciate the link.
