Hey AK, google meteorite data it brings a bulletin punch in nevada and you can find the places here where they found them. I found a place in diamond valley just 50 miles from where I live where they have been found. It is a dry lake bed, but it is only dry for about 2 months out of the year most times it is a mud hole. When it dries up I will be there searching. Good luck    DAN F.

Unlike gold, meteorites can be found anywhere. Sure - you might have better luck search a known strewnfield or a dry lake but why not gamble and take a  chance searching for your own? Nevada has millions of acres that have never been searched for meteorites and you can bet there's some big ones still out there yet. All it takes is a little patience, perseverance and luck to find them. If I was living in Nevada, I would pick out an area and just start walking- keeping an eye out for suspicious looking rocks. A metal detector would be a bonus as you never know what you might come across besides meteorites.
