I saw this guy mine a fantastic Topaz crystal from a Ryolite hillside - just blew me away!

You guys in the states seem to have a number of Topaz areas, not just Texas like I thought.

I was thinking with all the gem deposits located in the west, there has to be lots up here too??

I will be looking for any Ryolite with vugs whenever I go out now! Is that the usual spot Topaz is found? Does anyone know how far north it has been found?

For some weird reason Topaz is my favourite gem - if I ever find one I will be stoked.

One of the premier locations for topaz in the USA is Topaz Mountain in Utah. It's on BLM land so it's free to hunt there.
