Got on the website and seen some more of the star trek ornaments go cheap. I have no outlet for these or I would buy them.

Ain't it the truth.   My all time favorite Goodwill is/was the store in downtown Akron.   I picked up some truly amazing deals there in the mid '80's including an antique long carriage Remington typewriter and some nice home furnishings.   Come to think of it some of my best finds for yard sales were also in Akron  Smiley

She paid $7 and it was worth $1400 to $1700 Shocked The she buys some bathroom taps that where new in the box for like $15 and when my parent renovated she check with home depot and these taps are special order for over $3000...again Shocked

I try to go to Goodwill any time I'm in a town that has one....usually 2-3 times a week or more.......But!....Lately......the "Good Finds" are far and few between! I used to find a sterling item about one a week....Now!...it's been 3-4 months since I've found any sterling!!! Angry I think that a couple of things attribute to this. One!...Since silver prices went up about that same time, I imagine people are more aware of it and maybe less is getting donated to Goodwill...and Two! And most significantly....I think Goodwill has ALSO became more aware of Silver and are cherry picking it before it ever hits the floor and sales it online at shopgoodwill.com!!! I have seen TONS of Sterling and FINE Silver on there! Shocked Same way with their books...our good will has a lady that stands there scanning boxes of books that they get in one at a time and anything GOOD...of any value...they send it to a book place in Indy where they get a lot more money! I think that when they get items in they should let local residents get first chance at any bargains...and then if they are left at the color change time...THEN scan them and send'em off! Goodwill stores are get to be more about the money than actually helping the community. Most(But NOT All) of this stuff they get for FREE, yet some of the prices they put on things is plum ridiculous! I have actually seen items that they have priced that you could go to Walmart and get CHEAPER...and it would be NEW!!! I think they are just getting a little TOO greedy!  Angry But! Hey....that's just MY opinion.... Wise

But!...I'll just keep lookin' (and Gripin').....but just not as often! Lookin' that is!!! Grin

You have to find the stuff that Goodwill knows nothing about, otherwise, they are usually to high. I recently saw an item still new in the package there, they had $3.99 on it. As I looked closer, I noticed the original price sticker still on it, it was 99 cents. I've seen a lot of stuff priced to high like that.
