I think the coil will be ok  once I glue it back together, now I have some trouble in the electronics head. It only gives a single tone when turned on and does't stop.  The coil windings have 4.5 ohms resistance and the internal resistor reads 0.6 megs and the internal capacitor isn't shorted, so I think it should be ok.  We have about one foot of snow on the ground so it will be some time before summer.  The ground hog didn't see his shadow here, I hear winter will be over in six weeks , instead of one and one half months if he saw his shadow.

When you get brave could you post some photos of the inside of the coil?

And the control housing.

I guess my pictures are too large to send I will have to find a way to resize them.

Allison, click on "Downloads" on the tool bar above, then click on "Miscellaneous."  Go to page 2 and there is a photo-resizer program you can download.  It works great and it is free!                           Detecting

I finally got the pictures reduced in size, hope they turn out .  I don't think the coil is supposed to be taken apart, but I had nothing to loose, when I made the mechanical connections to the alum wire I coated them with conductive paint(rear widow heater grid repair paint) , the resistances all seem ok. Now I have some trouble in the electronics, good job my labour is cheap, I will keep trying !!!!!!

Good thinking on the Window heater repair paint.

Liquid PCB Track is good for that stuff too.
