My first observation is that there might not be any rings there for you to dig up.   Pull tabs and coins are a lot more common than rings just about any place you hunt including at the beach.   As for the depth, how far above the ground are you holding the coil?   Get it as close to the ground as possible and you should get a bit more accuracy (not that I have much faith in depth guages to start with).

I don't know where you are but here in Florida where I hunt (old building sites) I generally find 100 pre 1964 pennies before I find one silver coin. Silver rings are a little more common and a gold ring I have yet to find in 2 years. The AT Pro is a good machine. I tried one out and it is hot but you got to get it set up right. I started with a ACE 250 and it took me a year to get good with it. The learning curve with the AT Pro is going to be longer because it has more options. The results will be better.  Cool
