That is a really neat looking ghost town. Those false front buildings are pieces of art.

Thanks for the post,

Sean

Gold Point is a vacation spot now.  The fronts of buildings are not false.  I was there for 3 days in July 2009.  An Order, called E Clampus Vitus, journeyed there for their annual T.R.A.S.H (TransRoistrous Alliance of Senior Humbugs) Trek.  I would believe some of you know of us.  We also visited Goldfield and Tonopah, NV.  I didn't have my metal detector with me, but wish I did now.  There are no tailings in Gold Point, but I'm sure there are old coins and other relics scattered about.  I would believe you would need permission from the owner, "Sheriff" Stone, as it is private land now. Gold Point now caters to vacationers and tourists, but is an interesting place to go.  Coffee Crazy Funny

Thanks!  I'm a member of a fraternal organization called E Clampus Vitus.  Fairly well known in California.  We had a function there.  Wish I would have had my metal detector with me.  Several tailing locations.
