is there some kind of permission to detect at old ghost towns you need to get? I know u need land owners permission but what about old ghost towns? I dont mean one that have been made into national forest or anything like that Im talking about Auraria the old mining ghost town. Im not that far from it do I need permission to hunt there?

Jenk you need to read up on the state laws on antiquity and historical sites  in your area. If its on private land the owners  permission may be all you need.
