Go Up Go Down

Here are some more pics from our "expedition" to find a nearby ghostown. We found the old bridges, even the original stone foundations to the even older wooden bridge(long gone) next to the 1921 bridge.
We spread out and tried looking around the edges of the woods, but can't see much due to all the brush and heavy vegetation. I know others have found these bridges, as there are some that only research old roads/bridges.
The little "cabin" next to the riverbank is owned by a gentleman that checked us out. Talked to him for awhile and got some tips on where to maybe look. Pretty nice guy after he saw we weren't vandals. Guess he's had problems before, being out there in the woods.
Hope you enjoy the pictures and let your imaginations run free as mine is. We are going back in the fall, it's not too long a drive from where I live. We might not find anything, but it's worth a shot with our detectors.
Happy hunting everyone!

Rich Detecting

Getting closer to going back! The weather is turning, the leaves are falling...getting anxious!

The cooler weather means fewer insects and less chance of running into one of our legless friends who slither around where we want to go. Have you often speculated that snakes guard treasure?

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Thanks...hadn't thought about snakes! The colder weather should keep them away!
This could be just a bust, but we are hopefull, there has to be something around the area!

The builders could have lost lots of items and the original, hopeful owners of the bridge probably used it some. In days gone by, gambling with coin tosses and a penny pitch were common ways to pass the lunch hour. See if you can figure out the best places for a lunch break.
