Hello All

Depopulation is an ongoing problem in western countries as the they struggle in maintaining the birth rate. Whole villages are slowly being depopulated even today. As employment opportunities drive people to cities or even to another countries.

Skarvanes is a deserted village on Sandoy, in the Faroe Islands belonging to Denmark . Its last permanent inhabitant died in 2000, although there is still a family living in a nearby valley. The former residential houses in the scenic village are used as summer houses and for similar purposes nowadays.

The clean neat well maintained buildings are contrast to normal perception of a ghost town being an abandoned semi ruin.

However Skarvanes is a village with no people.
