Wondering if anybody else has ever used a Wadi, Terrameter or Gradiometer during their treasure hunting efforts and how much sucess they have had with them. I never see them mentioned in the discussions. And since I've been out of the loop for a few years, I was wanting to know if electronics has advanced much since I used them. I know we were able to search an area and download the readings to our computer and isolate any anomaly and expand the peramaters to pinpoint the object. Now that computers have come a long way since 1990, there surely have been advances in that field also. Thanks all.

A gradiometer was used by Howard Jennings in this book. He also describes his method for using a compass for a quick and dirty one. Download it free here:

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I do not think the WADI is in production anymore.  The frequency that it required was supplied by the old Loran and Omega transmitters, and they are gone now.  Pretty sure Gisco doesn't sell it anymore.  The Terrameter - as far as I can remember was a resistivity instrument, and there are many of them out on the market now, probably for much less money.  I could be wrong on these items, just going from memory and did not look anything up.  Good Luck
