are two different machines, the Lorenz is a metal detector by depth for large targets, while the Minelab metal detector have a coil for use smaller and is sensitive to even small objects, but in less depth.

lorenz,pulstar is good pi md.  it should be used by skilled operators in pi md's.

any types of pi md's require's operators understanding to the functions and performance of its pi md. a huge advantage in using metal detectors is the knowledge of the operator in electronics.

you must understand your metal detector on how it performs, not the detector understand you.
