Hey, I do not think that there is a MD that will be able to detect a 50x50cm jar at a 5-8 meters under ground but if you find such a detector let me know please   Smiley

actually i am looking for a jar of gold coins (50*50cm) buired at aaproximately 5 to 8 meters under the earth within an area of land covering 20*20 sqm.

You are not going to find a detector that will help you. Why do you think its buried that deep??

yes your average detector wont even get close to a target that Depth! I was going to recomend a two box but again if its rearly that depth I think its too deep.
Seldom is asking a good question, Why do you think its that deep ??

Hello, from what I understand when doing research before I purchased by Lorenz X6, sensitivity is directly related to the area of the target. Gold should be located at about 4 meters if the the target is about the size of a soda can.

Panama Red and nassiree,
if you go here:

You are not allowed to view links.
Please Register or Login

http://www.metaldetectors.de/download/deepmax_x5_x6_manual_uk.pdf
and then scroll down to page 21 you will see that Lorenz claims that X5/X6 can detect a soda can at only 2 meters and that is with the 1,5 meter double frame square and that is an air test!!! Keep in mind that this test is a lot different than detecting in the ground in a real world situation.

Your correct my mistake, 2 meters for a soda can, probably about the same for a jar of gold

Hi nassiree, A jar of gold coins is probably worth quite a good amount of money  Cool
As you say budget doesn't matter, I would suggest you try GPR ( ground penetrating radar )
this should show the ground anomalies( disturbed ground) and the object ( 50cm jar of gold coins)

This equipment wont be cheep and may not be easy for the first time user.

Send me a personal message if you  would like further assistance. I can help with your quest, best of luck

Hi,

I'm also interested in buying a Lorenz Deepmax X6 or a Pulse Star Pro II. Any treasure hunter with experience in difficult areas, heavy mineralized soil , etc.? I understand that in heavy mineralized soil it reduce depth under 2.5 m??
Many thanks!
