I have been searching (as some of you know) for any equipment that is capable of penetrating the ground beyond 150 feet in order to find a rumored cave on my property. I am frustrated with so many bogus claims but in my search I read as much as I could find on Satellite Ground Penetrating Radar. I know it is being used to locate water but I haven't as yet found out its depth capability. I searched the message board here to locate any previously posted information but didn't find anything so if I am covering a topic that has been previously discussed . . . forgive me. Has anyone here ever dealt with Satellite GPR and if so do you know how would I contact someone on the "inside" that might be able to help me? Thanks in advance for your replies.

i have no knowledge on GPR sorry, but i was wondering if seismic logging would work?
it will easily go down beyond 150' but not sure if it will detect holes?  just a thought..

That's an interesting thought, JJ. I did some quick-scanning research on seismic logging and found some promising results that I WILL study more in depth. I visited one site, Technos Inc., that gave advantages and disadvantages of seismic, geophysical, electromagnetics, gpr, magnetics, etc. It appears that seismic logging can in fact detect voids. I would have to study this for a while to figure out what equipments I would need and how badly my pocket would be damaged (ouch!). Thanks for your reply, my friend and God bless.

Hi;
If you can find some seismic oriented analysis software, I have  an idea how you might get the seismic data. The software should be such that it can give subsurface pictorial representations and depth determination..... did I really say that?

GD,
Just did a search on "seismic oriented analysis software" and found a boatload of sites and various available software. I guess the software would have satisfy the parameters of the equipment used to deliver seismic waves. From what I have read here in the forums, you are truly an expert on building detectors but me...... Cheesy well I'm just learning the hard way. I am impressed by your knowledge and abilities. Anyway Bro, what's your idea?
Thanks and best regards,
KD

Update:
When I was searching for seismic software and equipment I (uh hmm) stumbled across this site:

goldigger, have you or any of you other treasure buffs ever used a ProEx System? It uses GPR so maybe it's depth capabilities would be greatly reduced in wet and/or highly mineralized soil. Any of the products on the market require personal inquiries to their respective manufacturers or representative companies so getting an unbias opinion from them would be almost impossible I think. Any help from you "experienced" guys and gals would be appreciated.
Thanks, KD

Kendavid- It is frustrating isn't?   I feel your pain - the learning pains-  Do you have any GPS coordinates? Is so PM me those. Trust me I am not coming to the Phillipines to find your cave but if you will PM me some GPS #'S I will try to help more. Just if I find something for you and there is billions in this cave please don't forget findoldstuff from Mississippi. I really think Proton Precession Magnetometer is going to be the cheaper route. You are looking at 45' with PPM. If you send GPS # I will scan Images and see what I can find.

FindOldStuff,
I am living in the Philippines but only renting a house here. My property is in the states on top of a mountain that was used as a lookout post during the civil war. The history is almost as interesting as the rumors there. I will go to googleearth and get the coordinates for you.
Thanks and God bless,
kd
