what' injected ?

AK48:
Hello, question for those who know.
I am currently trying to realize a resistivimeter a little sophistcated and I study while looking on sites like yours and on the net, I could note that the various devices of the trade inject either of the alternating current, or of the direct current and that it could be dangerous  or mortal to touch the electrodes of injection during the manipulation of the resistivimeter, out, by rereading the technical doc of the CaveFinderB of okm, I saw that it sent in the ground, not a current but a frequency and that the fact of touching the electrodes during the manipulation was without danger, then, of the current or the frequency? Where's the truth?
Thank you
