The Staffordshire Hoard
By geoffc ? September 23rd, 2009 A discovery that will redefine the Dark Ages is to be unveiled at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery tomorrow (Sept 24)

The Staffordshire Hoard is a stunning find of Anglo-Saxon gold discovered earlier this year. It is the largest such hoard ever found and of international importance.

It will be presented for the first time during a press conference at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery tomorrow (Sep 24) at 11.30am.

Experts will be on-hand to talk about the discovery and how it will help rewrite history. Important pieces of treasure will be on show and available to photograph.

Artefacts from the Hoard will be on display at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery from Friday September 25.

Members of the media are invited to attend the press conference in the AV Room at the Museum and Art Gallery at 11.30am. If anyone has special requirements (sat trucks etc) please call Carmel Girling at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery on 0121 303 2923.

Hmmmm i Smell a rat already because Boadacea's last Battle was recorded long before the Anglo Saxons arrived in the UK.
Now they claim it was Anglo Saxon do these so called academics know what they are talking about?  maybe the put a lot of theories in a pot and take pot luck which sounds the most original.  Still an interesting find though  Shocked

Yep, first reports this morning I got coming out (Hoard was found earlier in the year but the lid kept on), was that they were speculating on Boudicca, then this afternoon got this press statement passed onto me, where it states Anglo Saxon ?? (500 to 1000 year difference)
Apparently it?s bigger than Sutton Hoe whatever it is, and some of the weapons are also of Gold !!
See what comes out at the news conference tomorrow afternoon on BBC (Internet side too)

Very Interesting indeed but having seen one of the objects I think this could be a treasure from the 10 lost tribes of Isreal who arrived in Britain in the first migration with Albyne 1600 B.C.
Then again it could be the 2nd big Migration that came into Britain around 600 BC with Brutas and the remnants of Trojans.
Nothing happened in  Britain according to the Establishment prior to the arrival of the Romans.
When faced with a problem of identification they always stick theirs heads up their backsides looking for an answer and we all know whats up there. he

However it is a great find they guys who found it will be over the moon and good luck to them but they will never get the real value of a find such as this because in reality finds like that are priceless.
Did you know these guys manipulate radio carbon 14 dating on order to arrive at a date? why because all the Egyptian dates are wrong you can blame the greek historians for that.

Go Up Go Down

There was another Anglo Saxon Kings grave found at a Rally in England last week.
the best of it is that both these finds have been found by metal detectorists on fields that were due to be subsoiled, followed by ploughing and rotovating, then harrowing and drilling with the winter crop, and they were all about a foot deep, while the subsoilers are going 80cm deep, so would have destroyed the graves and spread them over a wide area, to bethen mashed to pieces by the plough and rotovator.
But the archies say we are the ones that are destroying the archeological find, by finding them.
If it was upto them, these would have been destroyed, but they have often been heard to say, "Better destroyed than found by someone who is not a Professional Archeologist"
Assholes is all I can say  Lips Sealed

Rayredditch you are absolutely correct in your assessment of "professional Archaeologists." They do more harm than good. Maybe we can lobby to have all of them banned or declared a terrorist organization?

Unfortunately nowadays, they seem to be geting more and more Political influence via thier left wing lobby in Europe, where it?s everything belongs to the people, and what belongs to the people should be guarded and protected by the STATE (Professional Archeologists), especially where it?s liable to be worth millions of Euro?s !!
You?ll notice that museums used to be free to enter, nowadays it?s very expensive to visit one, just like art galleries !! And they want to Nationalise everything.  Undecided
