Simonandtree:
Hi, If your looking for S/H Try and get a minelab Sov Elite if you look hard you can get one for under ?300 and you can hip mount control box so only stem and coil they go deep and are easy to use, i sold mine for ?250 with extra coils. I loved mine many finds, but needed faster recovery off off iron. But a solid good machine, if you got more pennies look for the newer minelab gt model.
have tryed many machines and just keep coming back to minelabs, if ?300 is to much look at the XS2 model or the pro model with display these also use bbs tech  and can be had for as little as ?150 on EEE-bay lol hope this helps Si.

I use a Garrett ACE 150  [detecting] & at less than £135.00p you won`t be sorry you choose one.  ;) There are many of us who use this great machine who won`t part with them so finding a second hand one is usually quite hard.  [great]

Sea Badger:
[wise] Personally I prefer the simplicity (as I am simple myself  [crazy] ) of the ACE 150... I have had "one or two" of the fancy machines but always go back to the 150. There is a lot of snobbery at detecting clubs "down here" in the south west, but I am not impressed with "showoffs" if you catch my drift.  ;) Still... if everyone was the same it would make for a boring World yes?   [worms]

snobbery in detecting,we dig in dirt and god knows what else all day how can people get snobby over it,i like the xp because its simple and only have to listen to the tone picked it up for the same price as a garrett. i wonder if there was a good tone under a cow pat would they dig it.

;) My 150 works anywhere but under water  [detecting] I keep making finds on sites that are supposed to be played out where "the big guns" say there is nothing...!!!  [mad]  ;D  [great]
