Yes, The Law is the Law and it was not the most sensible thing to do, If everyone did that we would be in a heck of a mess, I understand his reasons but that does not make it right,

Like saying an eye for an eye, all we end up with is a lot of blind people, and killing some one can not be undone and that is where the death penalty has issues,

The was a movie I saw the other night that has been on a few times now called Let Him Have It where a guy with the mental age of 11 told his friend to give the police officer the Gun but the lawyers and the Police Twisted it to mean some thing else, anyways they hung the guy back in the early 50s and since then his sister worked hard to clear his name up until she died a couple of years ago.

The 16 year old who actually shot the police officer got jailed and was released in 1965, some 10 or 12 years later.

He was right in standing up to the wrongs that were done to his family, But he was wrong how he chose to resolve the problem.

He was a criminal. Fair and square. He was not right to kill a policeman and he paid for his crime. Justice was done. His way was vengeance. Sadly, that seems to be all right to some people in this world. We are better off without them.

that's what happens when they let their hearts rule their heads, But what Ned did was because of what they did to his mother and family.

No excuse. The law is there for both sides.

I wonder if anyone besides you and me know the origin of the phrase, "Such is life." They are the famous last words of a notorious Australian.

here is the link to the "story" of Ned.

The Police gave his family hell right from the start, So in a way the police only got back what they dished up to him in the first place, It seems the police have not changed much since then either.

Ned and family were far from innocent. They got precisely what they earned. ALL of them.

I can understand people doing things like that, when being pushed around something snaps and they say no more, everyone has their limits, It's just a matter of when common sense kicks in or even if it does

Back then Australia was only 100 years from when White man first went there and like the Early American History they were wild times, When Disputes were settled with a Knife or a Gun, And The police were made up from people who were not much better than Criminals them selves and the Locals knew that because some of them had come over on the same ships, So that would have caused some resentment.
