Go Up Go Down

Been wanting to visit this spot for quite some time, so this spring sounds like a good time to venture out to it. I tend to believe it is a natural anomaly but one never knows in this country. Still be fun to see.

Sounds like fun....We all know it's got to be man-made and a VERY special treasure marker....Why I bet if you hang upside down from the left nostril, kiss the bottom lip, and then twist around 165 degrees to your right, you'll be looking right at Yammie's treasure....all that's left is to figure out how many width of the eyebrows away it is.

HaHa! BA I think you are onto something there!  Grin I'll post some pics once I get out there if the weather warms back up anytime soon Undecided

It does bear a striking resemblance to the Moai of Easter Island, but if I was betting the lifesavings of $7.98, a paperclip and one rusty goldpan, I'd bet against it being tooled in any way.

There were some Hawaiians in the area back in the early days, thats how the Owyhee mountains supposedly got their name. As the story goes a party of them got massacred and the mountains were named the Hawaiis in honor of them. Spelling apparently wasnt a big issue and after all it's the thought that counts so they are now the Owyhees.

Not sure what the area looks like around it except from description. Gonna check it out one of these weekends before it gets hot.

Go Up Go Down

I've been to the "Old Man" many times myself. I rappelled down over the face and had a picnic on the nose once. If you look closely at the eyes, there seems to be pupils carved in the back of the eye sockets in a triangle shape. Sorry, don't have pics, maybe next time I go I'll get some to post. If anyone is interested in climbing/rappelling/canyoneering, hit me up.
Nate
