Go Up Go Down

Just picked up on this thread and have been wondering how our S.A. members did this last this last week. QUESTION to PGILL: How was your discrimination set on this hunt? I get tired of digging iron, but have just about given up on discrimination just because of that kind of miss! Seems like the only time I discriminate any more is when the sun is going down and I just want another coin... Greedy I guess.

Poptop, due to mineralisation and bits of wire and other junk, I notch out the first two segments.... I still pick up larger iron, but miss all the small iron... and yes also sometimes the good finds  Thumbs Down normally though, if there is iron and some other metal, it does show,,,, for some reason, this last weekend I missed a target.... that is the nature of the game, do I dig everything no matter what, or do I try and get the better stuff? There is pro's and con's on both sides  Great

For me it all depends on the site. If I know that the ground is full of crap which will take me the whole year to dig, I will discriminate.... If the ground is clear I could go all metal mode, but I am not an iron man  Thumbs Down the site we did the other day is full of sheet metal rusted to flakes.... that ground is alive for the Ace 250  Exhausted

And no mention of the PI it drives me nuts on ground like we have here. VlF is definitely the answer to our soil condition being very high in minerals and like peter said he would be here all year picking up scrap. I do that for two hours and I'm starting to get depressed.
