I live in iowa next to Omaha Neb.I dont know what the laws are, it seems like you cant hunt anywhere, how can i learn whats legal for a metal detector hunter?

Contact the city and county clerk's offices for the area you want to hunt and ask them how you can get a copy of the city/county ordinances (particularly the parks and recreation rules and regulations/ordinances).    For a lot of municipalities, you can find the information on line-----Here's a link for Omaha's
