Alright.  Yes, luckily for me I have a lot of places to search that possibly might yield many old coins.  I have an old inn built in 1834, just down the road.  I remember that one day, I was walking along a small, washed out ditch.  And I bend down and pluck a 1864 Indian Head cent.  Boy, that was nice not having to use a detector.

Now, I want to go back since I have found out a lot about my detector.  I know that I can ravage the place and get a lot of artifacts and coins from it.

Yep, I just thought having something like the Compadre would be something I could use, easily, in town parks and such.  Something to just whip out and start off with.

Hm, how long did it take you to pay over your Compadre with finds?

I know you asked the Tabdog guy but I can add my two cents worth about detecting in general. I have never failed to pay for a detector in 3 months time or less no matter how expensive it was. The only reason my Sea Hunter took me three months is because I was in transit on a ship for that long before I got to use it. Paid for that baby in less than an hour. Shipwreck site, dontcha know!

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Wow, just in an hour.  Must of been some nice items down in that.  I've had my detector for four years now, and I haven't even got it half way paid yet.  But, I have not truly understood it as of until the past two months.

Wow GD,

I aint never hunted a ship wreck.

Are we talkin about tha skill of tha hunter, or tha
machin? If people think they can hunt like me with
a Compadre, they better have tha swing time in, or
it aint gonna happen.

And MI,

My Compadres paid for them selves pretty quick.
Sense most of my gold finds come from tot lots,
or tot lot type environments, both my Compadres
have made more money than my other machines.

If I had good  beaches to hunt, then my other MDs
would be up there.

But, my other machines are better at finding
artifacts.

I do not sell my artifacts. I get to attached to them.
You only make money off what you sell. So the value
of tha finds are not in question here.

So, tha others get me what I love, and I love using
tha Compadre ta get my gold.

I have found about 300 grams of scrap gold in the
past two years. That is over three thousand dollars.

I do not count my clad, but, what would say for two
years of a retired guy huntin most days?

Say $500 or $600?

So I have brought in about roughly $1,700 a year.

I have not found any really nice stuff with thousands
of dollars worth of diamonds and rubies.

But, being land locked, and not travleing over about
50 miles to hunt, I think I did all right.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog

The Compadre seems like a machine that I could use to my advantage in the parks, tot lots.  When I search the tot lot, I like to search the edge of the tot lot.  You know, some lots have that wooden frame that separates it from the grass.  And, some tot lots do not have any frames, and I like to search the edge.  Most of the time I can find pennies, but I haven't found gold.  The only thing I did find was a silver ring at the edge of a swing lot.
