Go Up Go Down

A couple of weeks ago I took my dad out detecting at a public swimming area near Boise, ID that had been searched out pretty thoroughly according to the Park Ranger. I let Dad use my Sterling, and I used my Whites GM II (not a coin machine, but a detector none the less). Right off the bat, Dad found a bunch of coins and I dug garbage hardly big enough to be seen with the naked eye. After a couple of hours of frustration I stole my Sterling from dad and found this charm immediately. Being pleased with my find, I let Dad play with the Sterling again. I think he is hooked now.

Peace

Sean

Nice find!  Rider I haven't had any experience with either of those machines but the Garrett 250 that I use responds the same way to jewelry, pull tabs, aluminum scrap and brass. I usually ignore these targets and listen for the coins but lately I have been digging these targets too and hope to come across some real jewelry soon.

Under closer scrutiny, I discovered that is silver plated. Nothing much, but as a new detectorist a cool find.
