I dont know if its gold or not. The indentations make me think its gold plated. Found it at the entrance to a trail off the parking lot at the state park. I also found that chunk of (?). I don't know what that is.

If it is not fairly heavy it may be aluminum. Looks like that to me from the picture. Rings like that are kiddy rings normally.

Nice find no matter what though. Keep up the good work!

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hay,

It is a ring.

My first ring came two years ago.
I did not know it at the time, but
it started me on my way to bein
a jewelry findin fool.

I have found close to 300 grams
of scrap gold sense then.

That is about 10 ounces.

My machines have more than paid
for themselves.

It can be done.

People talk about tha metald detecting
golden years.

Those years are now for me,

Tabdog

GD's right,
These may be purchased as party favors at Wall Mart, but deep the faith your day will come....
My first gold ring, found with a detector, came the very first weekend I went out with my Garrett 350 in 1999. Five small diamonds 14kt man's wedding ring.
I took find of the month with at Lone Star Treasure club. Sold it in 2002 to a neighbor who gave it to his Daughter to use in her wedding. It graces his hand to this day.
My next one came two weeks later. Both were found on a baseball field.
I keep my detector with gold setting notched in.....foil/nickle/pulltab.
