The KKK for good or bad, is still a part of history, and like Nazi memorabilia, is still important, if even for those who forget man's disregard for other men.

History is still history, and is not something that should be edited and rewritten to represent the political climate at the time.

Spooky's right.....if you erase or paper over the bad parts of history, you only increase the chances of similar occurrences in the future.   You definitely should not glorify them, but you should seek to understand them, and most importantly understand how they seduced otherwise decent people much like yourself.  Only then can you know what to guard against and know how to defend yourself and your society (hopefully without losing your souls to another evil).

yes it is mt home town had a really big population of the invisable empire from the 1900s to the late 50s i found it about 4 inches down in the yard of a old jewelers house he was in business for 40 year sbefore his son took it over he has passed on 5 years ago but the new owners are always finding stuff he buried in dump pits and in metal cans

I would bet this as well.
The Klan experienced it's greatest membership in the period after WW1 up til the 1930s.
there were millions of members in thousands of chapters across the US and it was viewed as a "social" organization ala "rotary club" or "jaycess", and prominent members of the community were involved.
