Howdy Folks,

I was huntin a school yard in Nov. 2008.

This school is about 50 or 60 years old.

{alt}

They have a huge play area.

{alt}

I hunted 3 or 4 hours and didn?t get a third of it done.

Here?s the whole shootin match.

{alt}

There was a lot of clad. So I counted it.

Pennies?....114
Nickels??...48
Dines??..?30
Quarters..?..15
Kennedy Half..1
Total???.208 coins

Cash Value$10.79

Here are tha chains.

{alt}

Here?s tha junk ringy thingies.

{alt}

Here?s about 7.3 ear rings.

{alt}

Anybody like zipper pulls?

{alt}

Bullets, buttons, bangles and bells.

{alt}

Here?s a ROTC badge, token, Kennedy Half, a little
iron and a few pendants.

{alt}

This pendant turned out to be 18k gold with a pretty
stone of some kind.

Does anyone know what kind of stone this is?

{alt}

{alt}

{alt}

That was the first time I have found 18k gold.

It was nice day. It was cold starting out, and I shed
layers as the day progressed. I never got very cold,
but I sure got tired.

Thanks for lOOkin,

Tabdog

Wow, like I've said before that it a lot of coins in just 3 to 4 hours.  In that time, I would probably only have about 10 or 12 coins.  I haven't found a clad quarter yet, but I hope to!!

Anyways, that is a very nice haul for the day.  Talk to ya later!!

I know it seems amazing. Lots of folks react that way.
But it aint majic.

That place was mostly pea gravel. There was some wood
chips also.

I can go along and ignore anything that will be hard to
recover. Most targets were uncovered with my foot and
I just bent over and picked them up.

I can recover 300 targets an hour, or more that way.

Lets face it. Ya gotta uncover a few thousand targets
at least before ya get something good. Why waste time.
Get a good place. Then tear it up.

It is just that way,

It may be a pearl.  That is what it looks like to me.

In truth, all targets that I have found in the park were in between 1-3 inches in the ground.  I have only found two pennies and a dime on top of the ground so far.

Nice haul, Mr Tabdog !

You were lucky, as the place does not look like it's been hunting recently.

I also run a Compadre since a few week and it keeps amazing me.

Nice finds! Re: the stone type?  A little hard to tell, but it seems to have a chatoyant appearance.

Congratulations on the gold!! It sort of looks like an opal,but it is difficult to say since the pics sometimes don't show the true colors.
 That's quite a haul from a small area. I seems as though there hasn't been anyone digging there lately.
 Are the schools fenced in the way they are here in TX ?
