Josey - if u have a smart phone there is an app u can download to translate arabic to english , and I believe there are some web sites that do the same, If not contact a local college or antique stores etc.

Good Luck & Happy Hunting.

In Yemen they call em Jahma Knives. The bend in the blade and scabbard depicts their status as does the amount of decoration on the hilt and again the scabbard. I met a prince, or village elder, that the scabbard was gold. District officials have a more prominate curve the scabbard, it is a form of manliness there. no knife? not a man. Almost like haveing a gun in some countries now.
