From NE Kansas here. Been detecting for about a year, and use Garrett Gtax 550 and White's MXT

I am wandering if KS finds are similar to NE since the states share a border and some similar history.  Do you ever venture into NE to hunt?  I am just starting out and am curious about where and what people find in NE.  Also, we venture into KS for softball tournaments every year so I may have the opportunity for future KS hunting.
Thanks, Kathy

Hello NEKathy and Welcome to Thunting . There are some links on the internet about Nebraska and Kansas Ghost towns which are great places to metal detect if you correctly find their location . Also I read Meteorite hunting is becoming Popular in that region . Best Regards................Eugene

Here is one Nebraska link you may have seen already:

Hi, I would think it would be about the same detecting in NE as KS. Oregon Trail just cut across the corner of KS before it headed into NE though so you might find more from that era.
Here is a link with some great, easy to view, maps of NE from their state historical society. Sue

Thank you for the links. I added them to favorites.  I have been spending time researching the history where I live online and appreciate the extra sites.  Thanks for sharing.

Your local library is a gold mine of information. If there's a historical society or museum, visit them, too.

I work at a casino about 15 minutes or so from the Nebraska state line, but have never been to Nebraska.  We have huge softball tournaments in the town I live in every Labor Day weekend, and the finds around the ballparks are usually plentiful year 'round.
