Why does he need to provide evidence of tons and tons of gold/silver cached around the country when this subforum is about proving the KGC existence and there history?

Treasure doesn't have to be gold or silver. Treasure doesn't even have to be tangible. You aremisleading yourself into believing treasure always has to be gold or silver. Treasure only means it's something valuable. This could mean anything.

Well...I guess I treasure the socks Aunt Betty knitted for me. Should we be talking about knitting and sewing?

Thats your personal treasure if you are that queer. But just like you said the topic of this forum is treasure of the Knights of the Golden Circle. Ask your Aunt Betty if she can make me a pair too so I can have part of that treasure!

Glad to see that I am not the only one that has an interest in the KGC. I have the disk "The War of the Rebellion" and it does mention the KGC several times and their activities during the civil war. Odd thing is, most of their activities were north of the Mason Dixon line. Most of the confederate ecords just mention the KGC in passing. When they are mentioned, it was usually dealing with monies. Look forward to reading what else everyone else has.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Should have been clearer on the comment about the disk. It is the records of the Union army and the confederate army. Does not mention where hordes and caches are, just official reports from the field and all the other reports that come with running an army on either side. Just part of the research library. A lot of history isn't taught in schools and when I started finding some civil war buttons and tokens, I couldn't find anything locally, so I found a company, Guildpress of Indiana and they have put a lot of records to cd. A lot easier thank going through several volumes of records in the library of congress.

Yea thats true but most of the times its nicer to have the real records to look at also. But it's definitely a nice way to get your info.

Nice finds Raterry! Have you identified them? That Liberty Head token is interesting.

It's a "Marshall House Token". Prior to the civil war, people started hoarding money. This token was made for the Marshall House in Va. Still haven' t figured out how it got to an old forgotten town here in southeastern NC.
