I'm new to treasure hunting I live in QLD Australia and was wondering on maritime laws to new found Missing/Lost Ships and its cargo.
How to file a claim and any thing else that you think i should know.

There has been a lot of discussion on the topic but the fastest way is to contact your local maritime museum. Most of what you find will go to Australia with a small cut for you. Because of that, most wrecks will remain undiscovered. I know Hugh Edwards and the late Max Cramer who discovered the Batavia shipwreck off the northern coast of Western Australia. They spent a lot of time wrestling with the government over their treasure trove.

Thanks I think I'll be going to visit them shortly and I don't really mind about the cut but the fact I found it is what I'm after.
