Is it OK to md abandoned house lots in an old neighborhood?

Out here in Utah, there's a few houses I've drove by that are completely abandoned, broken windows doors wide open, obviously nobody living there at all. Are there any legal issues with just going md there?

thanks

Look at the Tax records and contact the owner for permission.  Some one owns them.

Just go in there and don't tell anyone.   ;D It will probably wind up being a crack house.  :D

As my wife says every time I see a place I wanna detect. Just go and start digging, you'll get to meet the owner soon enough. Without putting a bad name to the hobby, ask a neighbor without your detector or digger in hand. You may find the bank owns it and I would give that a pass.
