I understand that Mayor Bloomberg and Governor Cuomo of New York are pushing to limit civilian metal detector use to BFO type detectors and then only on designated stretches of beach during specified hours within a fixed "hunting" season. Access to the designated area will be strictly controlled by state law enforcement working in conjunction with TSA.

I hear Diane Feinstein is buying one of the top-of-the line detectors with all the bells and whistles. She will be able to carry it with her wherever she wants and use it anywhere she sees fit. The reason all those states are making more detector laws is because VP Joe says they need to make more laws controlling metal detectors because they can't enforce the ones now on the books! :o

When Diane and her cohorts rammed the California Desert Protection Act through Congress, she took a great caravan of limos to one expanse of California desert where she was arrested. The rangers, unhappy about the new law, read it carefully and it said that no man made items could be taken in to the protected areas. Her, and everyone in the limos was ordered to strip naked (all clothes and shoes are man made) and walk back to the nearest highway. Either that, or face arrest and fines according to the new law.
They amended the law the following week. But first they were allowed to leave with their clothes on.
