Your story rings true of why you need such things. After I made my post it came to me I should add the phone number also. I lived in coppers cove texas for a while. I love texas except everything you want to do is 100 miles down the road Rider

The best thing that works for me is calling the mayor of the town, they usually know the owners name, and where they live.

After your comment I modified the slip adding etc and removing small coins, Because I would look for big ones too. And I add telephone like you suggested. here it is below. I added an line at the bottoms so that you can hand write in extra terms like sharing finds with the owner.

I name (print)___________________________________________________________

Being the property owner of said property ( )          or administrator of Property use ( )

Address ______________________________________________________________

Phone______________________________E-mail_____________________________

Grant Dennis E Bridges Permission to use a Metal detector and dig for coins, rings,
jewelry, artifacts, stones, crystals, gemstones odd metal pieces, etc. At above property

Sign___________________________________ Date___________________________

Additions to be Initialed by signer and permittee

Hi Fitbridges.  Your revised permission slip is excellent.  It is brief enough so that this permission statement could be typed or printed on an index-sized card, filled in and signed by the landowner or manager, and tucked into one's billfold.  It should provide all the information necessary to convince the police or nosey neighbors that you are legally on the property and authorized to metal detect there.

Outback - that's my house!  Don't you see me waving from the upstairs window?  I was just getting around to tidying up a bit and mowing the lawn, I swear...  Hahaha! Grin

You will most likly need to go to the tax collector where the site is located to discover who the owner is. Then contact them and get writen permission.
