Also be sure to check the ordinances, rules, and regulations for specific cities and counties you hunt as they may not be the same as for state owned/administered properties.   You can generally find those at municode (use the search tool at the top right corner to find previous discussions on how to find the laws).

Thanks for the info-- I'll be on Seabrook in July.  I plan to do some detecting, but I already feel handcuffed.  Guess I better be careful to get permission from the proper entity!  Any suggested areas around OBX for this newbie?
