yeah, i've read that one. i'got pretty much the jist of the story, just nothing that i can use to actually pinpoint any locations. been cross-referencing all my leads on google earth, this one i just can't narrow down with any success.

Hello getusome

 Welcome

Here's a tip from an tired old dog who wandered the world and has done more mistakes then even he would care to admit.

Research, research and more research.

Get to the earliest source of the story. Question everything and go to where the research leads you. If you hit a dead end, don't kid yourself, get over it and move on to the next treasure story.

The more you research the more you learn. the more you learn the the more you realize that its the Journey and not the destination that matters.

Excellent advice, Hardluck. Treasure leads are sneaky. They're not always obvious. I found a treasure lead in a magazine article once. A woman had given permission for the magazine to print her grandmother's diary and there was an entry there about her and her sister being able to afford a new dress each! That was quite a thrill to her back in 1880. The exact date and location was there and I took a wild guess that her father had come into some money. All true and a post hole bank was located on the family property by myself and a family member. What a thrill! Not much by treasure standards but a real nice find and some old gold coins made it to my collection.

The family member? Why, he's now a treasure hunter of some renown. We do keep in touch by phone. He really hates this Internet thing.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hello,

Glad you read my article on the Big Lue and have learned much more since I wrote that one will be getting all down in the future. I also heard a story from a source not to long ago about a old german who rented a plane near Farmington New Mexico and was flying near there in search of land marks according to a relative of the pilot he had the an orginal copy of the Lue map with him. This was just a few years after the war. I believe the Lue to possible be in this area or one the the Lue caches as there is more than one. Also perhaps near Pyramid mountain in Colorado as well. Good luck on your search.

Hi,
My apologies for bringing up an old topic, but wish to question, what is the general belief of this legend? fake / hmmm. I would be interested in all input plus  the seasoned hardcore, um, researchers who been done , asessed(?) this legend?
Hands up , I have not done enough of the mantra "research, research and more research" on this one , but believe it may  have some un-answered questions...which need logical answers to help eliminate any future time spent on.
I would appreciate any input on this topic, negative or positive.

wuzneme
