In regards to lake Tana there is on one of the islands a monastery of Jewish monks who originated from a temple on a island called Kitchener's island in the Nile near Luxor Egypt in the First few Centuries AD. There is a long held belief in Ethiopia that Ethiopia was actually the land called Sheba. The Egyption believe this land was called Punt. There is a theory that the Jews fleeing Jerusalem during the Roman invasion took to Ark first to the temple on the island in the Nile then later to Axum.
Strange enough the Holy Ethiopian coptic church has a temple surrounded by guards a priest lives inside the church as care taker of a sacred object that is paraded around the temple once a year during a celebration. Is it the ark? you guess is good as mine.
Flower of the sea. Any excavation of such a nationalistic hero such as Genghis Khan would be under the approval of UNESCO I imagine. The trouble with trying to find the tomb is the region is so big.
