HuntingNamibian:
This is fantastic. I am in Namibia, also find this topic very interesting.

I heard about an old ruinous settlement in the South Eastern part of namibia, can't remember where I saved the info, will post if I find it.

Okay you all. Be well.

There is a ghost house in Swaakop munt (Not sure about the spelling)it was used by the Germans during the colonisation of SWA this would be a good place to look but you'll need a PI detector to get the depth in all that sand.

HuntingNamibian:
YOu are right, it is close to Walvisbay, then there is also Kolmanskop at Luderits in the south.

Hope to get round there some time.

A PI detector? Do you think it is worth going with only a Garrett 250?

The problem with your terrain is the sand, objects will go deep into it, on the other hand you do not have much that will bother you such as mineralization if anything you'll find a diamond. What I would do in the sandy parts and that's just about the entire country is use a PI detector but you will have to dig all your targets once again not a problem in the sand. use the VLF in the town, parks, parking lots, old pubs and you have some nice ones there. Ho yes there is a bike rally that use to go SWA just after the border there is a camping spot with some A frame houses that should make a great hunting spot for you too.

If you have a ACE 250 Use it.

Do you know what the Nevada desert looks like? well Namibia looks just like it, it will be a big plus for him if he can get a PI detector with a big coil 500mm in diameter to go detecting in the desert, it would not surprise me if he found a German WW2 motor bike or even a tank not to mention bits of air crafts.

Why  is the 1930`s so predominate in treasure legend`s? was it because of the Great Depression or other? Every time i read of a legend, it always hark`s back to the 1930`s?
