Hello all

Here is a story that might be of some interest?

A story of some lost gold mines in Oklahoma.

Two local natives had discovered gold and told the reverend J B Lloyd a missionary. He and 12 natives worked the first gold out mine and was preparing a second mine but was stopped by the government. Knowlege of the location was lost when the last of the 13 died. There was gold found near Wildman Oklahoma so perhaps this alleged mine was near this area?

Has this allaged mine has been found?

Or is it still out there for the lucky finder?

Hardluck

Given the fact that south eastern Oklahoma (especially around the Ouachita Mountains) IS a known gold-producing region, finding and losing a pair of gold mines is a distinct possibility

Hello BA

I never knew there was gold in Oklahoma until I found that story in a old newspaper. So it just goes to show you learn some thing every day.

Hardluck.
