Sooo what do you think that we have been trying to these past 8 months? besides that knowing how much gold was on-board will not tell us where it went down. Not to mention that it is a possibility that it never went down.

Regards Xavier

Yea, i realise that you have spent a fair few hours trying to get the facts on this. It is an interesting story, I just think that some proof of the valuable cargo is key here. Perhaps it will be hard to prove 100% the that there was gold on board without some key evidence. So it may come down to an edjucated guess!
It could be worth persuing with reserch and best of luck with that. It sounds like a great story to make a documentary of, actually i thought there maybe one made allready ? this story just seems familiar...

Hi Goldnboy

Reporters are exellent detectives so if there is a documentary about the disappearance then I would like to have it. I know that all the information that I need is out there I just need a lucky break also money is an issue and makes things that much harder but who knows I may just stumble on to some thing soon.

Regards Xavier

  Hi Xavier

Even if it can be proven there was gold on board, We would want to know how much. Also A flight plan would be very usefull or a likely route. This type of treasure hunting isnt easy, and would be an expensive exercise i would think, with time and money. I wish you the best of luck with it

Go Up Go Down

Hello All

I we think we have enough evidence that the aircraft was carrying gold of some sorts. We have to be aware one can spend ones whole life trying to find the answers.

Treasure hunting is very different science than looking for mineral wealth. Searching for Mineral wealth is based on geological principles and a working knowledge of reading the ground.

When searching for lost treasures we have to deal with whole lot of variables. It is the un- predictability of man we have to deal with as well as unforseen circumstances behind the loss or Burial of treasure.

Research is the key to determining the truth behind the legends. Even after finally discovering the real story there is still the mammoth task of trying to work out the location of treasure. This as you can imagine some times take more than one life time.

That is why I research many legends and treasure stories. research it to a point till there is no leads to follow for the time being. And place its in the words of Idaho Jones "on the back shelf" Its not gone or forgotten, its just waiting for the next lead to take the research further.

That is the principle I have worked with for so many years. It has given me a very broad knowledge base on many treasure stories. That is a treasure in its self.

Do I intent to search for all the lost treasures I have posted?........... No I am realist, there is no way in one life time you can search thoroughly enough these stories.

I could of kept much of this information to my self and not shared with anyone. However I am not greedy All that I post here I give here is for free... I only hope that people appreciate the time and effort of the gesture.

And whenever possible contribute what ever they find that might take the story to next level. That is what makes a Forum so successful. A universal group of people from many counties from a very diverse range of backgrounds contributing information to help put the pieces of the treasure mystery together.

This topic has been a shining example of that. If only our politicians could learn some thing from that?

And I thank once gain those who has contributed to this interesting topic.

Hardluck.

Your information is very much appreciated Hardluck. Many a day has been brightened by dreaming of finding one of these illusive treasures! I'll probably never make it to any of these exotic places but it sure is fun to learn a bit about them and their treasures.

This has to be one of the most fascinating threads  I've ever read!
One, Small thing, Niggles though......
If there were gold on board..... why did it come out in the press so quickly?
Wouldn't the military keep that a secret for a good while?
Anything I can do here in the U.K? ..... British Library perhaps??

o.k. ......... it gets weirder.... found this....

"49262 (c/n 26523) attached to 1254th AAFBU missing Dec 4, 1945 on flight from
Casablanca to Johannesburg, South Africa.  No wreckage ever found."
