goldnboy:
How about to offer a reward for any info. This could be the motivation that is needed to get the ball rolling?

Hello Goldnboy
The trouble is when you do some thing like that in a poor country you get a host of people claiming BS about where the plane went down for the reward.

Yea I was thinking that you would get a bit of BS, but you could also get some good info. Perhaps the break that you need! Getting some local contacts could be key for any chance of solving this puzzle

Ghana would be fairly safe, but the Ivory Coast and Liberia are probably a bit dicey.....
....considering some nasty Liberian mercenaries were used in the recent fighting in Ivory Coast....

Hi superdobbs
First let me welcome you to thunting try introducing your self in the new members board you'll be surprised at how many new friends you'll make.
I have been fortunate enough to have travelled quite a lot in Africa and the best passport any one can have is his attitude and some knowledge of the culture of that particular country and a knowledge of the political situation but like you said no need to look for problems.
Regards Xavier

Thank you, my friend.
I've just made my introduction.
As for traveling in Africa, I've always managed with a good attitude and a few words of swahili!
superdobbs.

Hello All
Just giving a little update. I have a contact who claims he is contact with an archivist in Liberia. So we will see if he gets back to me????
Sady the feedback is no so encouraging if anything survived. Most of the libary and archives was burned down during bthe civil war.

Hi Hardluck
Well as you probably already know I have been having a lot of problems regarding the inter-net not to mention that I have been very busy on the farm so no research done on my side but if you ever need someone to go out there with you I'll be game. I did however do a search on all the people that disappeared on that flight but the funny thing is that there is nothing to be found on them, I find this a bit strange as you would think that they went down as heroes and yet nothing! I have found no grave site for the pilot nor for the other passengers and yet there should be a grave site eve if there is no body as a place to be remembered.
