I didn"t see the show, but did read where a guy from Wichita KS, Ron Pastore, was featured on the show and thinks James died in SE Kansas in 1935.

Last week I was reading about James loot at Buzzard Roost in Cement, Oklahoma. A treasure map had been drawn on a rock and placed map side down on the ground. Whether what I was reading was real or just part of his legend, I have no idea. Sue
That Map is in Steve Wilson's Book Okla. Treasures.......It was found by Joe Hunter .....showed a side view of man that appears to
look like Cole Younger. Page 137 I believe

Paper currency back then was not the standard dollar. Banks printed their own notes and it would have been hard to cash in large amounts of money from one bank at another. Capone and other more modern criminals buried money all the time, and that was the green back they had, no way to really trace where it came from as evidence for a crime so to speak. Just some info for all of you out there.
