Interesting seldom, so 'dobies' book, something that is full of errors,  is the only source for wiki?  he he

and as for those that know more, I would be interested to exchange a few words publically and freely in here.

Will you please point out some of the questions that I supposedly have been side stepping and not answering? Other then 'X'  naturally

Hola amigos, and especially to mi compadre and pard Don Jose', Real de Tayopa, dueno del Real y Minas los Tayopa!

I see there is much to cover and as time limits my post, I will only say "tag post" and will return to add more as soon as I have time to do so properly.  I will say this, there is some documentation, the documents found by Lt Flipper being foremost, and even some direct linkage to emperor Maximilian and Napoleon III (Not the famous conqueror, his later nephew) who seems to have come into possession of a map and/or evidence which he felt would lead him to the mine complex.  Napoleon even had a plan to build a railroad to the Real, which was never constructed due to the French being driven out of Mexico.

Good luck and good hunting amigos, my apologies for being absent from class so long and so frequently, I have been very busy working on a writing project which takes up most of my computer time but will try to find more time to spend here with the most intelligent people I know!  (I am not just saying that either!) Great

You guys are fighting a losing battle with this guy, he thinks this is face book with the nonsense coffee crap and has yet to post any useful info about treasure.

Seldom, your post is pretty harsh.  If you will take the time to talk with Tayopa, Don Jose, whom is a personal friend and partner of mine, you will find that he is not a troll by any means, always polite, and a fount of information.  Perhaps his habit of raising many questions is rubbing you the wrong way, but he is only trying to point out that we have many more questions than answers, and that it may be possible for us to find the answers to some of the mysteries if we work together and share our knowledge and experience.

I had only read the first page of this thread when I posted a quick reply, and saw that rather nasty statement about my friend Don Jose, "Tayopa".  It is not helpful or conducive to foster interesting discussions for us to be calling names and making such unkind statements, I mean no offense to you Seldom just hope we can avoid getting into some kind of flame wars, especially when we could be having a most interesting discussion.  Please let us give Don Jose a chance, you will be pleasantly surprised at his vast knowledge and experience, if we do not drive him away by what could be interpreted as personal attacks.  I have known him over 20 years now, met him in person last spring, he is the real deal and knows what he is talking about.

Good luck and good hunting amigos, I hope you find the treasures that you seek.  I will try to post some interesting information on this topic as soon as I have more time to do so properly.

I don't know where you are getting your attitude from, thought I asked you quite diplomatically.  It is your forum, goodbye.

Good luck and good hunting Seldom, and everyone who reads our words, I hope you find the treasures that you seek.

Seldom-
I'm just curious: what did you mean when you said to Oroblanco (about Don Jose) "you have no clue the headaches this guy has caused us behind closed doors"?

Thank you in advance-
J.A.

I read this post with interest, since I see that someone is trying
to "win" a war of opinions - which is impossible, so, nobody is
going to "lose" either.  However, after 20-25 years, knowing
Tayopa "behind closed doors", is never a problem - in person
or otherwise.  If you feel there has been "run-arounds" or other
issues, I would advise you that it is because a certain person
has absolutely no desire to let you into their inner circle.

Go Up Go Down

Fair enough Mick.  I was just curious.  When I read Seldom's words to Oroblanco about Don Jose which included quite the tone of frustration towards him, I'd have thought Done Jose had ripped him off or something like that.  I didn't expect to see posts on this site that said things like "stop being a baby" or "grow up".  I'm new to this site but I've been on another site for a couple of years and have had some small amount of correspondence with Don Jose over the last 2 years and can tell you he is not what Seldom may be making him out to be.  I was once discussing with Don Jose through PM a book about Tayopa that he had once mentioned in a post and told him I was having a hard time finding it anywhere, and the copies I did find were astronomical in price.  He asked me for my address and that he would send me his copy. I gave it to him though, truth be told, I didn't expect anything out of it.  Three weeks later, what should I find in my mail, covered with international stamp marks in Spanish? The book!!  Don Jose does tend to be a fun, almost sweetly sarcastic, writer on these sites and I can see if sometimes his tone is misconstrued as something other than a proper answer.

Anyway, I wasn't trying to stick my nose into someone else's business.  Like I said, I'm new here and haven't had a chance to read past posts/threads.  This page was just the very first one I had read on this site and was shocked to see such irreverence, not only that it was toward Done Jose (aka, the tropical tramp), but from a site who's subtitle is "The Worlds Friendliest Treasure Hunting Community".

All the best-
J.A.
