Wonder if a fish finder would work? You could mod it out, if anyone can, you can..........need someone to run the trolling motor?

LOL!  Fish Finder ain't needed.  Been there in a Jon boat an the water on that end of the lake side is only 1-3 ft deep.

The whole lake is not more then 20ft deep until the dam.

Plateau?

Seldom how deep is the lake your talking about? Mask flippers and an aqualung with suitable MD could do the trick.

Look back about three or four post.

Cool site Homefire, Well you won't be short of water for the gold recovery. The mailbox propwash should be a good option if there is to much silt in your ways, also impressive for onlookers lol
If the Forrest folks wont let it be done, there is also the Bikini expo that was advertised at the bottom of the link for a backup option  Cool

I was diving and salvaging artifacts off a steamboat that sunk in the Trinity river some years ago (1992) and did spend a day diving the general area but with no land marks roads etc not even sure was in the right area.

You could try some old maps and with known land marks cross referance, just an idea. Not knowing how large the area your talking about is it's hard to know how well this could be.

You can drive there.  The whole area that would containe gold is about as wide as  two foot ball feild and four times as long.

I would guess the gold came from down hill on the south and west ends.   If the gold came from the North East side it's under the black top of the HY! LOL!
