Very good, you are showing what I was trying to point out, that he is many names to many people: Chingis, Jengis, Genghis. Another with many variations of his name was Tamerlaine, Tam er ling, and so on..... who knows better than one of his country men, even a few hundred years apart!

Can you tell us what you know about him?

 OK, sounds good.

What kind of place did your uncle find his nugget, or would he tell you? Where he found one, there should be more.

There was some discussion, on this forum, that Jengish Khan was buried with a lot of treasure, which I do not believe, myself, as I have been seeing some things about archaeological finds, in Mongolia.

Have you heard any stories?

Do you have 'Discriminate' on your detector? If so, turn off the discriminate, you will find more things. Some may be junk but you may be losing small but good items, like nuggets.

Ask anybody on the forum and they will say 'do not use discriminate.'

Discriminate is supposed to cut out things like bottle caps, pull tabs, cigarette foil, but it also lowers sensitivity to small items, like nuggets.

How do you know your detector is working?? Do you find anything?

Sometimes, my personal feeling is, you have to say a 'spell' over the machine....
But that may be extreme.  Shocked

Take the number of square miles, in Mongolia and divide it by the 500 detectors.... I bet you get a bigger number, than here! I would estimate you have as good or better chance of finding good stuff, than me!  Grin

Just remember, those 6000 can not see under the top of the ground, but with a detector, you can.

Goldigger is right. If you have a metal detector you have a BIG advantage. I run my Garrett in All Metal mode which can be a little annoying sometimes but I don't miss anything usually. I do use "descriminate" for verification of an object located in All Metal mode. VERIFICATION ONLY. Smiley
