Hello all

Here is a treasure legend that appeared in the papers around 1906. It is in some respects shows how naive some of these early treasure hunters was at the turn of century. Some thing all would be treasure hunters should be aware of. The theme of lost treasure buried on islands at that time was becoming quite trendy.

Some treasure legends are nothing more than myth built with no valid historical evidence, others are built up around a real person event or place but with no evidence that the treasure existed. And on a few rare occasions there are some treasure stories that do have some strong evidence to support the existence of treasure.

Of course knowing which one is which requires research and more research. Any way I let you decide the authenticity of the following newspaper treasure story.

Enjoy!

Hardluck  Wink

Interesting story.   Personally, I'm not sure how less naive a lot of modern hunters are.

Hello All

Here is another story that might be possibly linked to Alboran Island treasure hunt of 1906?

This story tells of a successful recovery of treasure on an island off the African Coast in 1901?

That description is off course very vague to where the treasure was allegedly recovered. The Africa coast is a very long coast line.

The Island could be Salvages, Tristan DE Cruna, some other mystery island or perhaps even  Alboran Island as the island lie in between Spain and Africa?

More questions for the tired old Grey brain matter  Huh?

Hardluck  Wink
